Teeth can move back at any age. Retainers hold them in place, so they are just as important as your braces.
How to wear them
- Wear your retainers every night while you sleep (8 to 10 hours), for life.
- If you miss a night and they feel tight, wear them more until they feel comfortable again, and let us know.
Looking after them
- Keep them in their case when they are out of your mouth.
- No hot water – it bends the plastic.
- Keep them away from pets.
If you need a new one
Replacement retainers cost £105 each, or £210 for upper and lower. If a retainer breaks, is lost or does not fit, contact us or your regular dentist straight away. Read more about retainers.
